A most subjective Who's Who

the tree lover

Abhinavagupta (Locana ad Dhvanyāloka I,4) listed four powers of words: denotation (abhidhā), conveying the speaker's intention (tātparya), secondary usage (lakṣaṇā), and suggestion (dhvani). As for this speaker's intention (tātparya), it is to take up the challenge of introducing non-Western tongues and modes of thought into the practice of professionally established, academic philosophy. Colors, images and customized templates are displayed to enhance dhvani.
